BIOGRAPHY

In May of 2016, the Callisto Piano Trio established themselves as the youngest ensemble ever to medal in the 43-year history of the prestigious Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. Praised by the International Holland Music Sessions as “a young chamber music sensation from the United States,” the Callisto Trio, comprised of Geneva Lewis, violin; Annie Jacobs-Perkins, cello; and Katelyn Vahala, piano, currently enjoys an active international performance career.

As Artists in Residence at the Da Camera Chamber Music Society, the Callisto Trio regularly performs in the Los Angeles area. They have also toured throughout the Netherlands and Slovakia at the invitation of the International Holland Music Sessions, performing at venues such as Het Concertgebouw Amsterdam and the Philharmonic Bratislava. While on tour, they were additionally featured on multiple Dutch national radio broadcasts and gave educational concerts at local schools.

The Callisto Trio is passionate about teaching, and as faculty at the Pasadena Conservatory of Music’s Chamber Music Intensive Seminar, they coached young students and presented public masterclasses, performances, and lectures. They also love sharing music within their communities, introducing new audiences to a diverse array of piano trio repertoire.

The trio is primarily based at the Pasadena Conservatory of Music, where they worked under the guidance of Andrew Cook. Other mentors have included Ralph Kirshbaum, Lucinda Carver, Itzhak Perlman, Joseph Kalichstein, and Merry Peckham. Geneva and Annie study at the New England Conservatory of Music with Miriam Fried and Laurence Lesser, respectively. Katelyn studies at the University of Southern California’s Thornton School of Music with Dr. Lucinda Carver.
